Don't smoke Cannabis here and Coffeeshop info

Red light district, don't smoke cannabis here!!!!

For starters; smoking Cannabis is bad for your health! This post is not intended to endorse the use of Soft Drugs. The best is to Just Say NO.

For those who want to try Cannabis, (which is legal in Holland)

In Holland you can smoke cannabis everywhere, however there are area's where it is not allowed. (not many areas ;-))
Don't smoke your weed when you see this sign!!! The fine is 50 Euros.

Coffeeshops in Holland are allowed to sell small amounts of cannabis and are strictly regulated and taxed. Furthermore, coffeeshops can't sell to anyone under 18 and not more then 5 grams to one customer. Hard drugs are strictly prohibited.

Please don't forget to dispose of cannabis when you travel back to your country.

Most important musea of Amsterdam

Skates up @ Museumplein, located south of Leidseplein is the plush 19th century Museum quarter (Museumplein). Unashamedly, Museum quarter is the pinnacle of sophistication and home to the three major and most important museums in Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art and the Van Gogh Museum makes this an art lover’s paradise par excellence. Without doubt, any culture vulture will be in their element in this recently renovated quarter. Also, in amongst the stylish hotels and cafés, lays the majestic Concertgebouw. Furthermore the architecture in this neighbourhoud with its unbelieveable enourmous houses is astonishing.

Look out for the tram!!!

Look out!! Tramline!!! Trams will run you over here when you don't watch your step but is THE means of transport in this city where parking is an absolute horror. Amsterdam is known for the most expensive parking rates in the world. Please check out the site of Amsterdams GVB (gemeentelijk vervoers bedrijf) where you can order a public transport card to make use of excellent public transport in Amsterdam.

Search for the roadsigns......;-)

Yups, they out there, find em all!!!! Amsterdam was recently struck by a strike, the, normally spotless clean city was turned into a complete garbage dump at some places. It didn't give a proper signal to tourists who thought they had landed in the South of Italy instead of Holland. It did deliver some nice "search for the roadsigns" pictures.

Skates up @Amsterdam Albert Cuyp

Taken at Albert Cuyp, Amsterdams famous street market. The market began trading in 1904, nowadays there are over 300 stalls lining both sides of the Albert Cuyp street in the neighbourhood of De Pijp. Traders sell everything from fruit, vegetables, cheese, fish and spices to clothes, cosmetics and bedding. The prices at the Albert Cuyp are among the cheapest in Amsterdam. The market gets very crowded especially on a sunny day and Saturdays. Opened mondays till saturday from 9:30 till 17:00. Must do experience in Amsterdam

Zoom to see what's a go, and whats a no go @ Vondelpark Amsterdam
Vondelpark is the largest city park in Amsterdam and the most famous park in the Netherlands for sure. The park welcomes about 10 million visitors every year. The Vondelpark is located south of Leidseplein and quite near of the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Van Gogh Museum. This beautiful park whas found in 1864 when a group of prominent Amsterdammers formed a committee to get a public park in Amsterdam. They raised money to buy 8 hectares of land and the architect L.D. Zocher was assigned to design the park as an English landscape. For many Amsterdammers this is their garden as the most people don't have a garden at home.
